Actress Dana Delaney of “Desperate Housewives” admits that her obsession with staying skinny during her youth was a hazard for her health. Dana Delaney speaks out about her problems with food when she was younger.
“When I was a teenager and in my twenties, I had eating issues. I binged. I starved. I was one step from anorexia – a piece of toast and an apple would be all I would eat in a day.” she tells Prevention Magazine.
Fortunately, she overcame her eating issues. Today she is a healthy vegetarian. She mostly eats vegetables, tofu, and fish. “I don’t like meat, so I don’t eat it,” Delany said. “I just prefer vegetables, tofu, and fish.”
Dana Delany recently learned that she has Celiac disease, gluten intolerance. This can become a big problem, since gluten can be found in basically every baked good you can imagine. However, Delany said it wasn’t a problem for her so far.
“I’m not supposed to eat bread or pasta, which is really hard when you don’t eat meat, but I’m trying gluten-free pasta, bread. It makes you less bloated and sluggish when you cut it out of your diet.” Delany explained.
