The law of attraction is the process of creating the life that you desire by focusing your thoughts, feelings and emotions on those things that you would like to have in your life. The law of attraction is a popular topic, and many motivational speakers are using the principles to teach people how to have the life that they desire.

How the Law of Attraction Works

The law of attraction teaches that if a person focuses all of their thoughts and energy on a specific idea, that they can bring their thoughts into reality. These thoughts need to be energized with feeling and emotion, and this is a long-term process that is more effective as it is applied over a lengthy period of time.

The idea behind these principles is that ‘like attracts like’, so if you work to adjust your thoughts and actions to be what you want, then you will attract similar experiences and situations into your life. This principle can be applied to physical things such as a specific home that you want to live in, or experiences such as a vacation that you would like to take.

The Problem with the Law of Attraction

If ‘like attracts like’, how do we attract more into our life when we are living a life of poverty? Some people struggle with the idea that they can create what they want by attracting those positive things into their life, especially when they are living with so little. For example, how is a person supposed to attract more money when they are always spending the money that they have on bills and payments?

This point is where many people get stuck, and they give up on applying the law of attraction principles into their life. They understand that they want more, but they are frustrated with the lack of results that they are experiencing.

How to Effectively Apply the Law of Attraction

A person can effectively create the life that they desire through thorough and sincere visualization. When a person is constantly focused on the things that they are lacking, they will continually attract more “lack” into their life. But, if the person can begin to see the things that they have been blessed with, then they will be able to focus more energy and excitement around the positive things that they are experiencing.

This mentality has a snowball effect, and more positive thoughts attract more positive experiences. Continuing to focus on the good things will create more of a space for better things to come into your life.

Don’t get caught up in the things that you are missing, because you will only attract more negative experiences. Instead, spend some time learning how to use the law of attraction to create excitement and energy around the things that you desire to have in your life.
